We were asked to bring in an object to make a larger version of in class. My first attempt was a canopic jar, which ended up being the previous Old Chun Pot piece. I had better luck emulating a limpet shell that I had found on a visit to the Outer Banks. The layered glazes, speckled tan lines on the ridges under a coat of jade, had a lovely interaction, producing the blue tones that are visible where they mix.
