A wheel-thrown piece, this was given the raku glaze and firing technique at a VisArts First Friday event. The glaze is yellow, which after firing and then dumping into a closed bucket full of paper, cracks in an intricate pattern. Then carbon from the burning paper is bonded into the cracks, creating the dark lines. The final result is the complex network of lines and subtle shading you see here.
